Forms and Policies
Policies
Thank you for choosing to be part of the Pony Power family.
Below is a recap of policies contained in your registration form.
Attendance,
Dress Code, & Safety
Program dates are posted on the calendar at the bottom of the homepage of this website.
Lessons will be held rain or shine; riders will use our covered arena on rainy days.
All participants must wear closed-toe shoes (sneakers or boots) and long pants, and dress for outdoor temperatures. No Crocs, sandals, ballet flats or crop tops. Riders with only partial support must wear a boot with a low heel.
All riders must have their own ASTMI-certified riding helmet. Standards recommend replacing your helmet every five years as the padding may break down, leaving a rider vulnerable in the event of a fall.
Helmets are available locally at the Ramapo Saddlery in Mahwah (201-512-1418) or at Equitique in Stockholm, NJ (973-864-2693).
Pony Power Therapies has mandated reporters of abuse and neglect on-site at all times. Therefore, if a staff member suspects that the driver of a participant is under the influence of alcohol or drugs, the driver will be asked to call a cab, friend, or relative to drive them and the participant. Refusal to comply will result in Pony Power Therapies contacting local authorities.
Pony Power Therapies reserves the right to suspend riding and/or horse-assisted learning activities if sessions are deemed unsafe/inappropriate for any reason.
Absences
We are not able to offer discounts, makeups or refunds for absences, planned or unplanned. For a more detailed explanation, please click here.
Please call, text or email Pony Power to notify us of an absence to help us manage our lesson volunteers.
If you or your child is ill, please stay home to ensure your safety and that of our volunteers and staff.
Regular attendance considerably increases the benefits for participants. More than two absences per semester may result in the loss of priority registration status for future semesters.
Should Pony Power cancel lessons, it is our responsibility to make up the lesson at a later date or to provide a refund.
Pony Power will not allow participants to ride in the event of stormy conditions, extreme winds or temperatures, or thunder or lightning. If weather conditions deteriorate during programming, participants scheduled to ride will instead work with their instructor on our horsemanship curriculum.
Pony Power will determine the need for canceling programs due to severe weather. Severe weather could apply to temperatures and/or conditions such as thunderstorms, high winds or snowy/icy conditions. In the event of a last-minute decision to cancel, we will make every effort to reach you by text, email and/or phone at least one hour prior to the scheduled lesson. If you are unsure of the weather conditions and have not heard from Pony Power prior to leaving for your lesson, please call: 201-934-1001.

Payment
*Programming payments are non-refundable regardless of your method of payment.*
SELF-PAY
Payment is due in full within 2 weeks of submitting your registration. We must receive payment before confirming your schedule. If we are unable to satisfy your schedule request(s), we will reach out with available options. If those options do not work for your schedule, we will refund your original method of payment.
DDD
While we are happy to be a source of unique recreational opportunities for adults, establishing service plans through support coordinators; obtaining DDD plan approvals; and collecting payments through Public Partnerships requires extensive Pony Power staff time. Therefore, once you have registered for a program and a service plan is drafted or approved, we will be unable to amend the plan to drop a program(s). Please review program descriptions carefully before submitting your registration.
