ABSENTEE POLICY

New Policy Change: Beginning June 27, 2022, we will no longer offer makeups for absences, planned or unplanned. However, should Pony Power cancel lessons, it is our responsibility to make up the lesson or provide a refund.

Historically we’ve offered one makeup per semester with at least 24-hours notice. As we’ve grown, this allowance has become impossible to satisfy during weeks when program is scheduled. Makeups often spill over to non-program weeks when we may have booked disruptive farm maintenance projects that can’t be done when lessons are in session and/or staff have opted to take PTO. Instructors here are required to limit PTO to non-program weeks, whenever possible, to ensure consistency for participants. Before bringing this change to our board of directors, we polled fellow Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship (PATH Intl) member centers, and all had eliminated makeups for absences in order to accommodate the growth they too have experienced.

With this change, we would also like to note that lesson fees have not increased in at least 11 years, and there are no plans to alter pricing even though our costs increase annually. We truly value your business and the trust that you have placed in us to work with your loved ones and look forward to serving an even greater number of people here on the farm as we begin our 23rd year of using horses to help people.
