Special Programs

Candy Cane

Pony Power Therapies partners with community groups to provide children one-of-a-kind opportunities throughout the summer, including riding and non-riding horse and farm activities.

Participants ride in a supported environment, learn what is involved in taking care of a horse, such as grooming and tacking, as well as take part in arts and crafts, and fun games. Plus, participants enjoy fun farming activities, like gardening, composting and beekeeping.

Operation Pony Power – This unique program was launched in the summer of 2010 for children of veterans and active duty servicemen and women living in Bergen County, NJ. This unforgettable opportunity is offered to 10 participants each summer, thanks to the generous support of The Bergen County Police Chiefs Association.

Summer Butterflies – Pony Power has once again partnered with The Valley Hospital’s Butterflies and Home Care programs to provide an unforgettable summer experience to children with life-threatening or life-limiting medical conditions. Thanks to a generous grant from The Valley Hospital, this program is offered at no cost to the participants, their siblings and their parents.

HackensackUMC – Pony Power has partnered with Hackensack University Medical Center to provide memorable experiences to pediatric oncology patients from the Joseph M. Sanzari Children's Hospital. Thanks to a generous grant from HackensackUMC Foundation, which was made possible by the Susan Zabransky Hughes Memorial 5K Run, this program is offered at no cost to the participants, their siblings and their parents.

We also partner with Children’s Aid & Family Services and Center for Hope and Safety to offer designated weeks of summer programming to at-risk children living in foster care homes and temporary shelters. In addition to our summer programming, we continue to offer after-school therapeutic riding year round.
