Susan Viniar, Chairperson
Sue has been actively involved as a community volunteer for more than 25 years, serving on several non-profit boards, including the The Valley Hospital, Duke University, and Friends of the High Line. Her professional career was spent as a pediatric audiologist and strategic planner for major health care manufacturers. Sue began volunteering at Pony Power as a “side walker” seven years ago and has been a key stakeholder in the organization ever since. An avid equestrian, Sue began riding 10 years ago and now owns two Paint horses.
Anne Armstrong-Coben, MD
Anne is an Assistant Professor of Pediatric Medicine at Columbia University in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Child and Adolescent Health. She is an Advisory Dean at Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons and is the Associate Director of Community Pediatrics residency training. Her clinical work focuses on children in foster care; she is also Medical Director of the Medical Services and Advocacy Center at Children’s Aid and Family Services in Paramus, NJ.
Mark A. Berman, Esq.
Mark is a partner at Hartmann Doherty Rosa Berman & Bulbulia, LLC, a general practice law firm with offices in New York and New Jersey. He is a seasoned trial attorney and appellate litigator who represents individual and corporate clients in a wide range of complex business and white collar criminal cases in the state and federal courts. In addition to Pony Power Therapies, Mark has previously served on the boards of several non-profit organizations, including Cornelian Community Counselors, Inc., Ahavat Achim Orthodox Congregation of Fair Lawn and the Gerrard Berman Day School.
Basil Bruno MD, MBA
Dr. Basil Bruno has been practicing pediatrics in Bergen County for 20 years and currently works at Pedimedica in their Hackesnack location. He received his B.A. from Columbia University and then went on to medical school at UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School. Dr. Bruno has also been a performing guitar/bass player since early childhood and has been a member of many bands ever since his teen years.
A long-time horse enthusiast, Elissa began her involvement with Pony Power as a volunteer, moving on to becoming an instructor and then a board member. Elissa is currently the owner of two retired Thoroughbred racehorses and a Holsteiner jumper. Elissa was a pre-school and kindergarten teacher for many years and adores working with children.
Steven has been President of Lamart Corporation, a family owned manufacturing company based in Clifton, NJ, since 1990. He has served on the board of the Beth Israel Hospital in Passaic, NJ, and is active with Hope Autism Foundation. Steven and his wife Alice were instrumental in starting the day program for adults with special needs at Metro West JCC, now known as Camp J.C.C.
Mike is a financial software professional at Bloomberg where he provides business solutions for the investment banking industry. Prior to Bloomberg, Mike worked as an investment banker at Goldman Sachs. He earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Columbia University.
James R. Napolitano
Jim currently works as a real estate consultant, after retiring from a long career in banking and law in 2012. Prior to TD Bank’s acquisition of Commerce Bancorp., Jim served as president of Commerce Bank/North. An active member of numerous philanthropic efforts, Jim has served as chair of the HackensackUMC Health Network and sits on the board of the hospital’s foundation. He also serves as a trustee of the Bergen County Economic Development Corporation and the Bergen County 200 Club and is a member of the Bergen Community College Board of Trustees.
Linda is a dedicated supporter of Pony Power who volunteers every week as a “side walker” for our special needs school groups. She leads the fundraising effort for our Golf & Tennis Outing and is one of our most active and vocal champions in the Bergen County community.
Dana Spett, MSW
Dana is the founder and executive director of Pony Power Therapies. She has served on the board since its inception. Dana graduated from New York University and went on to get her Master’s in Social Work and practiced in schools. She has been an accomplished equestrian from a young age, taking the initiative to start NYU’s equestrian team and competing internationally with the intercollegiate show circuit.
